About Cultural Learnings
Cultural Learnings, started in January 2007 by Myles McNutt, is a television blog with a focus on critical reviews and analysis of a wide range of television series. The goal is not to recap the events of the latest episode, but rather to place it within the context of the series, the season, its genre, and on occasion broad literary and cultural philosophies. While a fairly academic and analytical approach is generally employed, the subjects themselves are extremely diverse: from network to cable, Gossip Girl to Mad Men, science fiction to comedy, everything is both subject to criticism and, more importantly, open to interpretation.
In 2007, Cultural Learnings was voted by users of Hey! Nielsen, an online social networking site run by The Nielsen Company, as the #2 Best TV Blog out of over 75 candidates. It was also a major rallying point for fans of CBS’ Jericho following its initial cancellation, helping to give viewers a chance to voice their concerns and eventually earn a second season renewal. Cultural Learnings also strives towards knowledgeable and comprehensive coverage of the Primetime Emmy Awards nomination process, right through to an analysis of the show itself.
If you want to contact Cultural Learnings in regards to promotional materials, screeners, writing opportunities, questions or general inquiries, you can contact the site at cultural.learnings @ gmail.com.

Deaer Memles, I just discovered your blog and am reading it with great interest, particularly about the Save Jericho campaign. There is method to my madness–I’m crazy about a new drama on NBC, Life, and it looks like it is perilously close to cancellation. Some like-minded fans are scouring the ‘net looking for ideas on how to build audience from the ground up and how to influence NBC to support Life. Do you have any suggestions for us? Any resources come to mind? Thanks so much, Laura/sirona7
PS: Have you seen Life?
